SELF DEFENCE
PERSONAL PROTECTION AND SELF DEFENCE COURSES
Our self defence classes are designed to help women and girls feel safe and empowered. We hope participants will never need to use the skills they learn, but will always have the confidence and peace of mind from knowing that they are there.
THE COURSE
Visit our Instagram Page to get a feel for the course
The aim of our course is to enable women and girls, to recognise and avoid hostile situations, but also teach them the skills to defend themselves, should an unavoidable threat occur. The self defence course is part classroom-based and part practical, but no previous experience is necessary and only basic fitness is required. Courses are delivered in a positive way, focussing on female strength and empowerment rather than by inducing fear or threat.

Unlike many martial arts techniques, which can take years to master, the self defence moves taught on this course are designed to be easy to remember and intuitive. Each class is run in a relaxed and supportive manner to help everyone to maximise their learning experience.

As we bring everything needed for a Spar Stars course to your location of choice, courses are a convenient way to offer self defence classes in a setting that is familiar to participants and has minimum impact to your curriculum or working day. Courses can be taken at any time but it is always a good idea to refresh skills before big life changes, such as moving schools, leaving home for university, gap years or a first job.
